Subject: Grindz coffee pouches (chewing coffee???)

I stumbled across this yesterday as a replacement for chewing tobacco, Grindz Coffee Pouches. Interesting idea but I can't possibly believe that this would taste good or in any way replace the pleasure of relaxing with a good fresh brewed cup of coffee. If the only point is a caffeine source why not just take a NoDoz?

And if it’s coffee flavor you’re after I really doubt the pre-ground coffee in those pouches will be any good. Stale coffee in a pouch is still stale coffee. And, when’s the last time you saw an ingredient list for a cup of coffee with, "Coffee, Water, Glycerin, Caffeine, Taurine, Guarana, B-Vitamins, Sodium Benzoate (to assure flavor), and Natural and Artificial Flavors.”

But, that’s just my opinion ;-).

Larry.

That looks hilarious actually. At first I thought you were referring to chewing "Grindz" the fake beans that you run through your grinder to clean it. I was thinking "gross!" Lol.

Better to chew coffee than to get Oral Cancer though!

To avoid confusion, you may want to pay careful attention not to conflate "Grinds" (the odd chewing food-like subtance here referenced) and "Grindz" (the grinder-cleaning pellets).

Yuk. They sound truly disgusting.

They're probably onto a winner, therefore.

Interesting concept, but who needs it?  You can just put some of your home-roast beans into a baggy and have good coffee to chew.

When I was a kid Safeway used to sell whole bean coffee and had grinders in their stores.  I'd pick up the spilled beans (on the counter not the floor) and chew them.

Even today sometimes I sample what I just roasted that way.
