This is the best commercially available Peruvian coffee I've tasted. Peru Valle del Santuario (Sanctuary Valley) Farmer: Isidro Neira (If you don't see Isidro Neira's name when ordering it or on the bag, it's probably a different coffee.) Harvest Time: in June-August Roaster: Counter Culture Coffee
I usually wouldn't so quickly recommend a coffee, but it's a small farm and tiny lot, and should very quickly run out. I believe Counter Culture will start roasting it on January 12th.
I misplaced my cupping notes, but can remember a bit: A fairly big, dense coffee. The brightness is of apples, a glimmer of orange, and perhaps a touch of my favorite, phosphoric acid. Pretty florals. Counter Culture's Director of Marketing, Mark Overbay, was spot on when he described the aftertaste as like a Riesling's.
Counter Culture's general Valle del Santuario coffee, blended from different farms in the valley, tastes more fermenty.
