A couple of weeks ago I ordered Intelligentsia's Kenya Gaturiri Auction Lot for $14 (or around there) per POUND. Now that same batch is $13 per HALF POUND??????
What is up with that Intelli? Can the celebrity/GQ (read here jokingly: M. Riddle) barista answer this? Did I just get a full pound by mistake?

Matt is too busy polishing his trophies and exploring espresso extraction on his GS3 to respond but I hear ya....(kidding matt) You did receive a pound by mistake. It was $14 per 1/2lb bag. That is quite a coffee. Cheers! Jay Intelligentsia Coffee Roasters & Tea Traders

I agree. It was very good. The Brazil that you sold out on, I was able to get a half pound of that before it got away, too. I am here to tell you that was special stuff and I am hardly ever a Brazil fan.

Yeah, that Sertao lot was very nice. It had some nice fruit and intact acidity for a pulped natural, yum. Did you make espresso with it? I was meaning to but never got around to it...

No, but I will tell you something funny about that. I ran out of BC and had about half of that Kenya sitting there and I started plowing that through the Mazzer. It took a couple shots, but I got the dose and grind right. It was really good. Then I started having that ol' brain unction: I started thinking about mixing the Brazil and the Kenya 50/50. Never did, but thought real, real hard about it. Why don't you mosey on down to the La Marzocco and tell me how well that does work :) LOL
