Just trying to get a consensus..what is your favorite overall coffee brand/blend (espresso not included)?   Also, has anyone tried Target's Archer Farms coffee?  I got it a few weeks ago just because I was there and was running out of Starbucks at home..to my surprise, I found it to be very smooth, and I actually prefer it (at least the Sumatra and Kona blends I've tried so far) over Starbucks...

Starbucks doesn't count as coffee. I use a local blend from a company called Cosmorax. They roast quite often so the coffee is fresh when you get it (I'm from Australia).

I just like the sentence. I like Allegro's Boyo coffee, which can be found in the Whole Foods market and it is high grown in Cameroon. But I like to try the Kona also to see what the flavor and smell of expensive beans are... can't wait!!

I think I'll try one later and see how is it. By the way, who tries Caribou's winning roast, Ethiopian?

I'm not totally settled on this, but what I'm preferring right now is an Ethiopian Yerge/Nicarauga limoncillo blend.

I'll do Sbucks in the morning every once in awhile, but I'd never bring it home. If I had to buy someone else's for home use, there's a couple of local shops that roast their own.

Typically I stay away from the whole Sbucks is the devil kind of trip, but if you look around, you'll find a shop or two that roasts their own and that's just always better.

I really prefer locally roasted beans. I like a lot of acidity, and typically enjoy city roasts, kenya AA and the like. I've tried caribou's Ethiopian Reserve lightly roasted and quite enjoyed it-but still like their Kenya better for it's more floral components. My favorite "home" (as in local) roast is by Flying Rhino in Toledo, I like their Guatamalan San Juan Utaipa. Yummmm!

Recently tried *$ "pike's peak" that they've been advertising and as usual, it had the "charred" taste. My question is: so many people complain about this-is this some sort of Seattle thing (to rephrase, do Seattleites, in general, like a very dark, charry roast) that the company is trying to keep as part of it's culture? I guess I don't get why they don't have any lightly roasted coffees.....and it seems a shame, with their buying power...
