It looks like those guys stole the graphic from Raven's Brew.

Check this out: http://www.ravensbrew.com/NewFiles/kopiluwak.html

I don't think you can beat their price if you really want to try this stuff.

Raven's Brew was selling it in small lots and throwing in a T-shirt with the pooping civit.

I think they were getting $75 for 1/4 pound including the shirt.

I have yet to try it.

LMAO!  I've never heard of this particular kind before.  I guess there's a first time for everything though.  $75 for 1/4 pound is just a bit steep in my opinion for experimenting so this is one thing that won't be on my Christmas list.

I tried it many many years ago and it was a very inconsistent coffee. It was at a cupping at my old company. Not worth the price.

Stephen Fry (a British actor, played Oscar Wilde) gave some Kopiluwak to Prince Charles as a wedding present.
You have to be on good terms with a prince to give him civet cr*p as a gift

I believe Dave Barry called this brand: "Poopaccino".

From what I've read,  I believe the wild civets eat the coffee cherries and poo around the coffee plantations basically randomly.  So to get a pound of beans, you basically have a few farmers going around digging up civet poo and looking for beans inside them.

That can't add up to a lot of beans.  The novelty and rarity of supply pushes the prices up.

As for the coffee itself.  I havn't tried it, but imagine it must smell like its flavored with "Pandan" leaves, which is what the civet and the poo smells like.  Basically a very inefficient expensive way to flavor coffee!

I wonder why nobody has tried to make this stuff by feeding coffee to a few pet civets as suggested here?  Anyody here care to dig in? ( into poo :) )
