It's soooo perfect!
I love the weight and the form, and the wood, and the engraving, and...I love it.
It really makes tamping much easier because it fits ecxactly in my portafilter. With my old -too small-plastic thingy I could only tamp without twisting, otherwise the coffee slipped out on the sides.

Heureka

Joey :-))

...and that's "the manual".
(to make sure everybody uses it correct ;-)

I have to say, the black+white image should be white+black. Meaning, black bean in the middle, black ring, white font.
So if you'll ever order an engraving with your tamper - keep in mind the negative-color-effect, it doesn't warn you on the homepage.

But I'm happy with the nice service and can recommend it. Thanks for the coffeegeeks who helped me decide the Tamper from R.B.

Hi Joey!  The wood ones are lovely!  Have you seen the lava tampers???  I'm thinking of starting a collection (uh, oh...)

Oh, and before I got a "real" tamper, I had one that cost about $3 from the local kitchen stuff store.  Two different sizes, one on each end.  One end was too big, the other, too small.  So I'd use the small size & move it a couple of times.  You're right - it's such a pleasure when the darn tamper is the right size!  (I worded that carefully...)

WOW! That looks cool. Don't lead me into temptation ;-)
Do they come in orange, too? That would be my favorite color.
I think we should bring X-Mas forward to the 24th of August. Too much rush in December, anyway...
Since I'm in this forum, my list to Santa will be very long this time *lol*

Joey:
Here is your temptation.  It comes in orange and here is a picture of mine with the stainless steel convex bottom.

Congrats on your new tamper - looks great - bet it works beautifully

Shame on you - Roxie and Bobby - just because your tampers are better looking and one in the right colour - (OMG) WOW - and you know Joey's a gluten for punishment - Christmas comes every month - didn't you know - seriously, the Lava tampers are gorgeous - I'm jealous <grin>

....do you mean my boticelli? Well, I hate it that I have to wait 2 minutes til I can froth the milk. And if I have to make 6-8 Cappas and Lattes in a row, which happens at least once a week, it's sad that my crema looses strength...
If someone has drunk the first cup in the meantime and orders another one, I have to wait for a loooong time to cool it - or I make a mess in the kitchen letting the steam out (although my plants appreciate that)

joey

PS.: slightly OT- another use of my boticelli - recently my throat was dried out and hurt a bit after a bad night  - I used the left over pressure after my morning -latte and inhaled the steam :-) That helped!

PPS.: Another thought - cause as I just wrote the word "morning-latte" I had to grin for the following reason:
The word "morning" translatet to german is "Morgen".
The word "latte" written the same way in german -"Latte"- is used for coffee latte but also means "bar, batten or pale" which is also a nickname for the male reproduction part...
So the word "Morgenlatte" combined is also an expression for the mens morning *er-action {:-)
So in my future coffebar/roastery I will have a special morning offer (like the happy hours in bars at 5pm): You can get your "Morgen Latte" for half the price between 7 and 10pm! I'm sure that makes some customers drink more latte ;-)
(After that it's a regular caffee latte.)

I hope I didn't scare or snub someone here or get kicked out of the forum...I just think it's the same fun like ordering an "orgasm" at the good looking waiter at the bar... (in case someone doesn't know it - it's a cocktail, like "sex on the beach", and it tastes delicious)

I'm also thinking about other fun names for espresso drinks...

Greetings
Joey :-))
