The Krups model for the carafe including the lid/brew charmber is 046-42. It used to sell for about $45. I did a quick search and could not find any in stock.
Mark, the foam produced in the first half of the pot is probably the C02 bloom, being washed out of the coffee bed. I did a brew of coffee in day 2 from roasting and ...gee whiz ...I had almost half a potful of it.

I am currently working through the prob of how to fill the basket with grinds while keeping them within the seal and not all over the counter and kitchen floor.
