So great to finally see a first look review from CG on this machine. I was actually hoping to see one for the Tea first, but this is just as good. Can wait for the in-depth review!

Hey folks. Thanks for the initial comments. Here's some followups:
I don't have a Tea - I have the Millennium and the Zaffiro, as well as a Venus (which has major therm problems, not yet resolved), and some of the lower end Isomacs.
I don't want to get it plumbed in :) Though I will cover that aspect in the detailed review.
I've had my Millenium since June and I've never been happier with a machine or with my shots (I graduated from a Livia which must have been a lemon - several bad problems over two years and I finally just gave up).
I didn't want to get it plumbed in and that leads to my only quibble with the machine -- it is a water monster (given the need to cool down the group head)I have a constant debate with myself whether to take all my cups off the warmer for maximum safety (too much trouble!)or do a delicate balancing act sliding the warmer just enough -- cups and all -- to add the water. Haven't lost a cup yet, but I live in fear!
So, i just unpacked my new Millenium and when the heating coil and pump are on together, it keeps tripping a 10 amp ciruit - is this just a matter of load (ie that could be solved by a 15 amp line), or is there a problem??

It's a 1400 watt heater, or 13 amps. The motor is only 50 watts or so. The heater usually cycles in 5 seconds, too short to throw a 10 amp breaker, but if you turn on the steam, you'd blow it for sure. 15 amps would work if the line is clean (no grinder, at least at the same time as steaming), 20 amps would be better.

Re power trips and Isomacs....
I had a Zaffy for a couple of weeks and unexpectedly started tripping the house mains after its first backflush(this is a 240volt system in England) for no apparent reason. I took the unit to a neighbours house and the exact same thing happened so returned it to the supplier anothercoffee.co.uk who were golden. You guessed it they had the machine working without a problem in their office for a few days on its return and couldn't identify any problem, but still they sent me a new replacement machine a few days later. No problems so far after a month.
Possibly a problem with Isomac's when getting super hot through heavy use in a short time scale? I know this doesn't sound very logical to the electrically minded but can't think of any other explanation.

Great early review Mark! That said, does the HEX machine overheat the grouphead compared to the Zaffiro? It seems to me you didn't have the overheating problems with the Zaffiro like you do with the HEX machines. FWIW, the only heat-related problems I've had with the Zaffiro's grouphead is when I get my inner forearm too close. YEEOW! I much prefer to be fully awakened with good espresso over a burn.
