I second Ed's comments. As much as I love Australia, I have to admit that it's about as far from anywhere as you can get ... big bucks to get to Hotlanta!
Thanks for the great work, Mark et al!

PS. Mark, I hardly think that you're original in your wanting a mini robur sentiment. I'll jump on the bandwagon, too!

No way ESI or Treuh isn't working on a smaller Swift with a single hopper. Hear anything? That would certainly be a worthy competitor to the Mazzer Kony.

Nice photos, Mark.
That Wha???? device is a conveyor system for moving coffee beans (or marbles, or whatever) from one place to another. For those days when you have a LOT of green beans to homeroast. :-)

Mark, the Cableveyor is a system for moving ground or whole coffee and other particulates around the joint. They bill it as somehow maintaining the aroma. Looks like a great bird toy...

Mark,
You might take another look at Bunn's new MyCafe. I had a good talk with the people at the booth, who were quite proud that it takes a variety of pods and is not proprietary. They also claim a temperature range of 200F +/-5.

Great photos of the show. I was there and had a fantastic time. The Elektra Blue Barlume is beautiful. You listed two of the Astoria machines as Astra. Some of the new Astoria designs remind me of something out of the Alien movie.

Great article!
With regards to the Mairali machine - I suppose you found it on the same stand as Futurmat as they are both brands of Quality Espresso in Barcelona. See: www.gaggia.net where you will find Gaggia, Visacrem, Futurmat, Mairali, etc.
