Thanks for lovin' on Novo. I love those guys. Can't wait to try the new Ethiopian that got a retardedly high rating from Ken Davids. I'm sure it's good, but is it really 97.5 good?? We'll see.

Could somebody in the know explain how Ninth Street manages to subscribe to Stumptown's prescribed window of usage for Hairbender? I would love to see their coffee make it north of the border.

The Piccolo brothers' (and Canada's own, for that matter) 49th Parallel Roasters turns around roasts, with shipping, within 48 hours of ordering to just about anywhere in North America. So I'm sure it's quite doable.

It’s great to see that the coffee scene is improving so quickly in the City! Every time I’ve looked into it over the past year or so, I’ve found a new shop or branch of an existing one. I'll have to try that new Gimme location soon - Brooklyn was way too far for regular visits from northern Manhattan. Still don't know any shops anywhere near that caliber uptown...

Hmm. I thought I was told/read something about how strict Stumptown is about how many days off roast their espresso should/could be served. Anyway it seems NYC has a great selection of roasters from all over. I'm jealous.

Liz, thanks for the great report; you've given me so many new places to visit next time I make it down. The NYC coffee scene is looking so good, I heard that HBO is developing a new series, "Sips and the City."
Sorry. :-P
A few questions/comments:
Queens? Where?
Mike White isn't "kind of a big deal." He IS a big deal!
Anyone know why those vertically-formatted photos don't display properly on my screen? :-(
